Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about converting SVG files with SVGtoIMG.
How do I convert an SVG to PNG?
Open the home page, drop your SVG onto the converter, choose PNG, set your resolution, and click download. Conversion runs in your browser, so the file is never uploaded.
Which formats can I convert SVG to?
PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP and TIFF. PNG, WebP and GIF can keep transparency; JPG, BMP and TIFF are flattened onto a background color you choose.
Is SVGtoIMG really free?
Yes — it is completely free, with no account, no watermark, and no limit on the number of conversions.
Do my files get uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens locally in your browser using the HTML canvas. Your artwork never leaves your device, which is why it is both private and instant.
What is the maximum file size or resolution?
There is no hard limit set by us. The practical ceiling is your device's available memory, since very large output canvases consume more RAM.
How do I export a high-resolution or @2x image?
SVG is a vector format, so it rasterizes cleanly at any size. Enter a custom width and height, or use the 2×, 3× and 4× buttons to scale up from the SVG's intrinsic dimensions.
Can I keep the background transparent?
Yes, for PNG, WebP and GIF. Leave the Transparent option checked. JPG, BMP and TIFF have no alpha channel, so you'll pick a solid background color for those.
Why does my JPG have a white background?
JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background color you select (white by default). Switch to PNG or WebP if you need transparency.
Will fonts in my SVG render correctly?
Yes. If your SVG uses a Google Font, SVGtoIMG can fetch and embed it so the text rasterizes correctly. This is the only feature that contacts an external server, and only the font name is sent to Google — never your SVG. You can disable font embedding in the converter.
Can I convert multiple SVGs at once?
Yes. Add as many SVGs as you like, set your options once, and download them individually or all together as a ZIP. Conversion still happens entirely in your browser.
Which browsers are supported?
Any modern browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari — on desktop or mobile. There is nothing to install.
